Work permit renewal for expats over 60 years extended until year-end

31 August 2020

The Public Authority for Manpower has announced the renewal of work permits of expats aged 60 years and above till the year-end (except those with university degrees). This implies that expats who do not hold a degree, and who are over 60 years of age are allowed to stay in Kuwait till the end of this year.

The Manpower Authority Director, Ahmad Al-Moussa, issued a decision limiting the renewal of work permits for expats over 60 years of age, who hold only high school certificates or those with less qualifications, until the end of this year.

The directive also permits only one year renewal for expats aged 59 and 60, until 1st January 2021, so as to get ready to depart by the end of 2020, after which, all expats who are over 60 years of age in Kuwait, will only be university degree holders.
