Nationals can cancel Domestic Worker’s Residence after three months from departure

01 November 2023

The Ministry of Interior in Kuwait has announced that starting 5th November, nationals have the right to cancel a domestic worker’s residence (Article 20) three months after their departure from the country through “Sahel” application, and they need not wait for an automatic cancellation after six months.

The Ministry, in the press release from the General Department of Security Relations and Media, said that this change is a result of direct directives from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and is aimed at facilitating the process for nationals.

The release further said that nationals can now request cancellation of worker’s residency through Residency Affairs Sector by using the “Sahel” application, or by visiting one of the Residency Affairs Department from the said date.
