The Ministry of Health in Kuwait is set to host 39 visiting consultant doctors from renowned international medical centers throughout February. The visiting specialists will cover a spectrum of medical disciplines including ear, nose, and throat (ENT), ophthalmology, orthopedics, oncology, internal medicine, and neurology.

Dr. Muhammad Al-Azmi, Director of the Public Relations and Media Department at the Ministry of Health, unveiled the initiative, highlighting its aim to foster academic and professional collaboration with esteemed global universities and medical institutions. The program seeks to facilitate knowledge exchange, offer training opportunities for local medical professionals, and introduce cutting-edge treatment modalities for complex cases across various specialties.

Speaking at a press briefing, Dr. Al-Azmi emphasized the significance of tapping into international medical expertise to address critical healthcare needs within the country. By bringing in visiting consultants to engage in patient care and surgical procedures, Kuwait aims to provide top-notch healthcare services domestically, sparing patients and their families the inconvenience of seeking treatment abroad.

The visiting consultant doctors will be involved in two key capacities: delivering medical consultations and performing surgical interventions, as well as conducting training sessions for local medical and technical staff. Dr. Al-Azmi underscored the keen interest and support extended to the program by Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, Minister of Health, and Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, underscoring its strategic importance in advancing healthcare delivery in Kuwait.

Appointments for consultations with visiting doctors can be made through the “Sahel” and “Q8Seha” applications, providing convenient access for patients seeking specialized medical care.
