First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled has taken decisive steps to simplify and expedite the recruitment of domestic workers. In a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Interior and the Public Authority for Manpower, a joint statement was issued, outlining measures to facilitate direct recruitment without the involvement of intermediary offices.

Addressing the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled emphasized the government’s support for Al-Durra Company in streamlining procedures for recruiting and employing domestic workers. The initiative aims to overcome challenges faced by the company, ensuring a more efficient response to the increasing demand for domestic workers in the market.

Al-Durra Company has been directed to launch a dedicated service on its website for receiving special passport applications. This online platform allows Kuwaiti citizens to complete all necessary transactions, including fee payments, without the need to visit the company’s headquarters. The move is geared towards enhancing convenience and reducing the administrative burden on citizens.

Moreover, citizens with special passports for domestic workers can utilize the ‘Sahel’ application to issue an entry permit (visa) for the recruited domestic worker. This streamlined process enables them to obtain authentication through the embassy of the worker’s home country, eliminating the necessity for intermediary offices in the recruitment process.

The developments mark a significant shift toward a more direct and efficient approach to recruiting domestic workers, aligning with Kuwait’s commitment to enhancing citizen services and simplifying administrative procedures.
