Partial curfew to continue until end of Ramadan

20 April 2021

According to the latest decision by the Kuwait government, curfew will be in place in Kuwait, although, the curfew hours in Kuwait will remain unchanged (from 7pm to 5am). It will begin on Thursday, the 22nd April, and will continue until end of Ramadan.

The Health Minister, Bassel Al-Sabah, when speaking at a meeting said that the number of deaths and infections have increased, and increasing numbers of people are requiring ICU admissions.

This decision may be reviewed regularly depending on the pandemic situation, said Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, the Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs.

The government has also urged nationals and residents to take up social responsibility and get the Covid-19 vaccine, as it is the only way to reduce deaths and infections and the pressure on ICUs.

On 1st April, the Kuwaiti government had decided to further decrease the curfew hours by one hour, and also permit walking within residential areas between 7pm to 10pm.
