After two months, the partial curfew that was imposed in Kuwait came to an end. The Kuwaiti Cabinet on 13th May, the first of Eid Al Fitr, lifted the partial curfew imposed across the country to combat the spread of Covid-19.

Government Spokesperson, Tareq al-MAzrem announced that the commercial activities will now be open during daytime, with restrictions, from 8pm to 5am, except for pharmacies, restaurants, food marketing outlets and maintenance services.

Cinemas and theatres will be open to the public, those who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 virus.

Specific services such as cinemas will also open up to those who have received the Covid-19 vaccine.

With regards to physical attendance of employees at public and private workspaces, it should not exceed the 60 percent ratio, Tareq confirmed.

The Cabinet also barred direct commercial flights with Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, with the exception of cargo planes until further notice.

The nationals of these four South Asian countries will also be denied entry into Kuwait, irrespective of whether they arrive on a direct or transit flight, unless they stay in a third country for 14 days.
