Kuwait indefinitely extends ban on entry of expats into the country

25 February 2021

The decision to impose total ban on entry of all foreigners to Kuwait has been extended indefinitely, announced the Civil Aviation Authority early this week.

The government had banned the entry of expats two weeks ago, and this was supposed to expire on 21st February.

However, according to an announcement by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation on its Twitter account, it has been decided to indefinitely extend the ban on entry of non-Kuwaiti passengers into Kuwait, as per the instructions by the health authorities. No further details were revealed.

However, it was said that Kuwaiti passengers can continue to enter the State, provided, they undergo a seven-day quarantine at hotels and another seven days at home.

A few days ago, the authority had explained how non-Kuwaiti passengers can enter Kuwait from across the world from 21st February. The announcement said that people coming from countries that were earlier restricted will have to undertake 14-day quarantine at hotels, while passengers from other countries can quarantine for seven days at local hotels and for another seven days at home.
