The current ban on serving shisha at cafes will continue, and the Kuwaiti authorities will not lift the ban, until coronavirus vaccines are made available, say latest media report.
The decision to ban the shisha at restaurants and cafes is still in effect, and is unlikely to be revoked anytime soon, the reports said.
The ban is intended to protect customers and attendants. Although the health situation seems reassuring, the return of shisha may not be allowed soon. The shisha return depends on the success of COVID-19 vaccines that is now being globally developed, with vaccination campaigns happening across the country.
When it comes to the matter of serving shisha, society’s interests take precedence over individual interest, the sources said.
Early in the month, few owners of cafes in Kuwait had staged a protest against the ban on Shisha.
Although the Kuwaiti government granted permission for reopening of cafes in the country after seven months of shutdown, serving of shisha was not permitted as a precaution against spread of Covid-19.
