Kuwait has announced plans to extend certain visit visas even after the grace period that was announced earlier this week.
It is said that the directives issued is to heed humanitarian cases that has occurred due to repercussions of the global pandemic, which include travel restrictions, increase in air fares and infections that has affected some visitors.
The Kuwait Interior Ministry, represented in the Residency Affairs sector, has allowed one-month extension for certain cases for the visit visa holders, who were unable to leave the country during the deadline that expired Monday at midnight.
About 5000 foreigners are yet to leave Kuwait, even after their visit visas expiry. According to sources, the directors of governorates’ affairs in Kuwait are responsible to approve the extension to avoid the anticipated crowding.
