The Central System for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR) recently announced that it amended the statuses of 18,217 Bedoun residents during the period from the year 2011 until the end of December 2021, reports Al-Rai daily.

Director of the Status Adjustment Department in CSRSIR Brigadier General Muhammad Al-Wuhaib explained that a total of 9,127 people have completed the procedures for adjusting their status in all state agencies. CSRSIR is currently following up 9,090 cases whose original nationalities were determined by the agency’s departments.

The determination is based on confirmed documents and valid evidence including a passport, birth certificate, identity card, passport register, community statement, conscription book, statistics of the country of origin, and old government documents (citing the nationality and departure notice).

CSRSIR has notified those concerned about this matter, and procedures for adjusting their status are being followed up. The statuses of 8,068 individuals have been modified to Iraqi nationality. The statuses of 6,583 persons have been modified to Saudi nationality. The statuses of 1,133 people have been modified to Syrian citizenship. The statuses of 309 persons have been modified to Iranian nationality.

Brigadier General Al-Wuhaib called on anyone who wishes to amend their status to visit the CSRSIR headquarters in Ardiya area to regularize their residency and reconcile their status according to the residency laws in force in Kuwait.
