The Cabinet decides to increase the capacity of the Kuwait Airport to keep pace with the rush of those stranded but have started arriving into the country.

The current operating capacity of Kuwait airport is about 10,000 passengers per day with a large percentage of Kuwaiti citizens returning from summer vacation and allowing expats to return the plan has been successful. Airport capacity will be raised very soon.
For the Ministry of Health opening of the airport along with getting the economy moving was the main challenge. In the last 4 months Kuwait has seen various commercial activities commenced, reports Al Rai.
Dealing with Husseiniyas during the month of Muharram was a another challenge. Vaccination campaign resulted in 80% of the population received one dose and 75% received both doses.
Earlier, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has once again asked the Council of Ministers to increase the number of daily arrivals at Kuwait International Airport; which currently stands at 10,000, reports Al-Anba daily.
The DGCA made the request as part of efforts to reduce air ticket prices. With the resumption of direct flights from Egypt and India, ticket prices increased remarkably due to the quota for arriving passengers.
The airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport have exhausted the quota allocated for them; hence, they have been unable to open new destinations. Therefore, increasing the number of arrival passengers will greatly contribute to reducing air ticket prices.
