Kuwait Cabinet has approved decree for parliament elections for the 16th legislative term to be held on December 5.

The Cabinet of Ministers announced today that they have approved a draft decree calling for the National Assembly elections to take place on December 5. These elections will be for the 16th legislature.
The current parliamentary session, which began in 2016, is the sixth legislative term in the history of Kuwait to hold a supplementary fifth session, otherwise known as the closing session.
The last legislative term that had a closing session was the ninth legislative term that began in 1999 and ended in 2003. Every legislative term since 2003 has been dissolved and elections for a new parliament were carried out.
