Kuwaiti municipal authorities have limited the access to cemeteries to relatives of the deceased in order to curtail the spread of the new coronavirus in the country.
Head of the Kuwait Municipality’s Funeral Affairs Directorate Faisal Al Awadi said in a statement,"The burial time now starts from 8am until 3pm. The burial process has to begin upon arrival at the cemetery.”
Kuwait started Sunday enforcing a curfew from 5pm to 4am as part of its efforts to battle the potentially deadly disease.
Al Awadi added that no one is allowed to escort the coffin inside the hearse vehicle. “These measures must be complied with and applied for the well-being and safety of mourners,” he said.
