The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, through the Department of the Technical Apparatus for Supervising Goods and determining their Prices in the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Sector, is actively working towards issuing a ministerial decision to regulate fees for driving training hours at car education companies in Kuwait.
This collaborative effort involves coordination with the Ministry of Interior, specifically the General Administration of Driving Education in Hawalli Governorate.
Sources disclosed that a crucial meeting convened on Sunday, November 19, involving key figures such as Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Technical Staff Department overseeing goods and pricing, a representative from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Brigadier General Hamoud Al-Roudhan, Director of the General Administration for Driving Education in Hawalli Governorate, and Colonel Muhammad Dulahi Al-Hajri, Head of the Education Schools and Offices Department. Captain Saad Al-Rashidi, an officer in the Education Department, was also present.
The need for this ministerial decision arises from a considerable disparity in prices set by various driving education companies providing services to the public. The Ministry aims to regulate and establish standardized prices for car education hours. The decision is set to encompass education for private, public, and construction cars, as well as motorized bicycles.
Insiders emphasized that the forthcoming decision will not only regulate fees but also bring order to the driving school car market, particularly those companies offering services with luxury or expensive vehicles.
