Kuwait Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has not received a request from Almarai Company to increase the prices of its products.
The concerned ministry officials recently issued a directive to inspect the markets to ensure compliance with the approved prices, warning that the necessary action will be taken against whoever is proven to have violated the price control regulations, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.
Source pointed out that even if Almarai submits a request to increase its prices, the ministry will reject it and this applies to all food companies. Sources affirmed that the officials in these companies fully understand the need to comply with the prices stipulated in resolution number 67/2020 until the committee tasked to study proposals in this regard completes its work.
