The General Administration of Customs is preparing to install 40 surveillance cameras in Abdali Port based on a contract to replace the old cameras with new and advanced ones.
This is a part of its effort to maintain the security of travelers and prepare to receive the masses traveling to Iraq through the Abdali Port to attend the Gulf Football Cup matches to be held in Basra city from January 6, 2023, reports Al- Rai daily.
According to an official source in the General Administration of Customs, a tender was floated for the supply, installation, operation, maintenance and securing of surveillance cameras, their accessories and supplies, as well as for training on their maintenance, operation and use at the port. It was published in the official gazette on June 19, 2022.
The delay in approving the general budget was the reason for the delay in signing the contract with the winning bid. After approving the budget and signing the contract with the company, it started its work and coordinated with the concerned authorities to implement the terms of the contract and install the required cameras.
