Kuwaiti families spend KD 1625 a month on welfare

Average Kuwaiti family spends on welfare and entertainment about 1,625 dinars per month, which constitutes about 49% of household spending per month, without counting the monthly rent of Kuwaiti families who own their homes out of a total expenditure of 3296.6 dinars, according to data issued by the Household Income and Expenditure Survey issued by the Central Administration of Statistics.

Meanwhile, expatriate family spends 357 dinars on welfare and entertainment, which constitutes 33.4% of their monthly expenditure, which amounts to 1071.3 dinars on the same expenditures that include personal care, restaurants, entertainment, sports, transportation, clothing, fabrics, shoes, tobacco and its products, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to other calculations, the average spending of citizens and residents on welfare and entertainment differs if it is measured to the total average income of 3995 dinars per month for a Kuwaiti family and 1131.5 dinars per month for an expatriate family, which means that Kuwaitis spend about 41% of their income on luxury and entertainment, while expatriates spend about 32% of their income on the same issue.

According to the data, the expenditure of Kuwaiti families on food and beverages amounts to 371.4 dinars per month, which represents 11.3% of their spending, while the expenditure of non-Kuwaiti families on the same item amounts to about 159.8 dinars, which constitutes 14.9% of the total monthly expenditure.

The average expenditure of Kuwaiti families on transportation reached 408.8 dinars per month, which constitutes 12.4% of total spending, compared to 98.6 dinars per month for expatriate families, which constitute 9.2% of their spending. As for the expenditure of citizen families on information and communications, the monthly average amounted to about 187.6 dinars, which is about 5.7% of spending, compared to 58.4 dinars for expatriate families, 5.5% of spending.
