Kuwait’s play 'System Out of Order', the first virtual theatrical performance in the Arab world, entered the Guinness Book of Records, according to Al Qabas newspaper reports.
The play was shown remotely, and the number of tickets sold on May 25, Eid Al Fitr Day, reached 1,474, breaking the record for tickets sold in one day for an electronic comic show.
Kuwaiti entrepreneur Bader Nabeel Al Essa said “We decided not to wait for support, but rather to be creative, and develop the idea of virtual lectures, and then the idea of a virtual theatrical performance.”
Play-actor and director Mohammed Al Hamli said, “The lockdown was not an obstacle, because the workers on the show took the opportunity to create the first virtual theatrical show in the Arab world. This achievement is an incentive for Kuwaiti youth to get more creative.”
