Kuwait has planned to launch major awareness campaign to encourage vaccination, local media reported, citing health sources.
In an attempt to make the jabs widely available, the Health Ministry also plans to expand the delivery of jabs to eligible categories of people including administering the vaccine at workplaces, the sources said.
Vaccination centres will operate according to convenient schedules during the coming Muslim month of Ramadan by providing the shots during the fasting hours and after the iftar (sunset) meal. The details of these schedules will be made public in the next few days.
More vaccination centres will be opened soon as health authorities targeting larger groups of people. The AstraZeneca and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines are being administered in Kuwait with no severe negative side effects reported.
