There will be two mobile units for each of Kuwait’s five health districts. The mobile vaccination units will be targeted to those are bedridden, people with special needs and anybody that has a severe illness that prevents them from traveling to the vaccination centers.

The Ministry of Health approved 15 medical centers across Kuwait to begin administering the vaccine as Kuwait received the first batch of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine last week. In each of Kuwait’s five regions, three health centers have been allocated as vaccination centers.

The Ministry of Health’s spokesman, Dr Abdulla Al Sanad, said in a press statement on Saturday that the health centers will begin administering the vaccine on Sunday.

On Sunday, the head of the Ahmadi health center, said on Kuwait National TV that the medical center has begun its vaccination process and is prepared to vaccinate 500 people a day.

Meanwhile, the Director of Public Relations and Media at the Ministry of Health, Dr Ghada Ibrahim, has announced in January that 20 mobile units will soon be launched to vaccinate people who are unable to leave their homes due to severe health conditions, Al Jarida reported.
