Kuwait airport to operate at full capacity

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced that they had received instruction from the Council of Ministers to implement the third phase and to open Kuwait International Airport to its full capacity. From Sunday 24th Oct 2021 Kuwait Airport will operate with full capacity.

Kuwait International Airport will gradually operate commercial flights for all aviation companies, in accordance with the Cabinet’s decision, Director General Yousif Al-Fozan told KUNA on Thursday.

The directorate succeeded in operating under the challenges and requirements of the coronavirus pandemic crisis, calling on aviation companies and passengers to abide by the COVD-19 safety restrictions needed to enter Kuwait.

The Cabinet announced Wednesday that Kuwait Airport will return to operate in full capacity, as part of its plan to return to normal life after the coronavirus impact.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Travel and Tourism Federation, Muhammad Al-Mutairi, said the “opening the airport will allow airlines to operate more flights which will directly reflect on the national economy through the contribution of the aviation, tourism and travel sectors to the GDP, amidst the state’s ambitious plans to develop the air transport market in Kuwait".

"The decision will also see the reduction in ticket prices, as there will plenty seats available to meet the growing demand which will bring down the cost of travel to their moderate levels. He stated travelers from Kuwait will once again see the tickets prices to some destinations dropping to less than 100 dinars, for both outbound and return trips,” Al-Mutairi added.
