Kuwait will operate direct flights with the United Kingdom starting from Sunday, June 13, the government communications office wrote on Twitter citing a decision made by the cabinet.
The easing of coronavirus restrictions will allow one direct flight a week for each Kuwaiti airline, the tweet said.
As per the directions of the government, the Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been tasked with organising the flight schedule so that each airline company has one flight a week.
The move comes as Kuwait slowly starts lifting restrictions on vaccinated travellers. So far, only
Kuwaitis who are vaccinated can leave Kuwait, with a few exceptions. While flights are set to resume between Kuwait and the UK, non-Kuwaitis are still barred from entering Kuwait until further notice.
Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways have not opened the booking process for these flights yet, according to a search by www.visit-kuwait.com
