Kuwait opt for installment system for returning workers

The Kuwaiti government is deciding on the possibility of implementing a two payment installment system for domestic workers that are looking to return to the country, according Al Anba reports citing a senior source in the government.

The point of installments is to reduce the cost of the Kuwaiti sponsor.

Last week, according to a source that spoke with Al Anba, the first return trips for domestic workers will begin on December 10. The health officials have agreed to the return of domestic workers as long as there are no more than 600 entering into the country each day.

The source revealed that one of the possible solutions would be to divide the cost into two installments.

The first payment will be for the price of the plane ticket and the second would be, upon arrival of the domestic worker, for the total quarantine package, which includes accommodation, meals, transportation and medical examination (PCR) test.

Moreover, the source indicated that the government will be allowing more than one company to handle the quarantine procedures and will set a fixed price price.
