Al Ghanim Bilingual School (GBS)

Al Ghanim Bilingual School (GBS) promotes a well-rounded education through a bilingual (Arabic-English) curriculum. GBS was licensed by the Kuwait Ministry of Education in 1997. In January 2014, GBS achieved accreditation by the Council of International Schools (CIS).

They have recently introduced several new changes, including the introduction of a full high school program, BYOD program, MAP assessment, IXL, new security procedures, homeroom teaching for grades 1 and 2, contained classrooms for grades 3-5, and Kidproof program for K-5.

As part of their continuous improvement, GBS is going through the process of re-accreditation by CIS, the Council of International Schools and we are working diligently to exceed CIS’s international standards as they have done for so many years. A team of CIS evaluators is expected to visit the school in the spring of 2020.

GBS is comprised of four divisions.

Kindergarten Division: three years from Pre-K to KG II.
Elementary Division: five years (grades 1-5).
Middle School Division: three years (grades 6-8).
High School Division: four years (grades 9-12).

Students who attend Al Ghanim Bilingual School come from diverse backgrounds. While the majority of students are Kuwaiti, they do have students from a host of other Arab countries.
Students who graduate from GBS do so with a solid educational foundation and most pursue higher education, including admission to universities in Europe, North America and regionally.

The school has excellent facilities with big and spacious class rooms well equipped with laptops and interactive whiteboards, 4 shaded play fields, large gymnasia, a well maintained auditorium, a well equipped library stacked with a lot of books covering the school subjects.

There are also 2 School canteens, a well thought over music rooms with all the equipments and apparatus, 3 Science labs with the latest facilities, 3 art rooms, 2 Computer Science labs especially designed to facilitate young students working on them.
