Additional fee charged from travellers at Kuwait International Airport

11 October 2021

The early inquiry system at Kuwait International Airport now involves additional fee for travellers.

According to sources, the additional fee is included in the ticket price and the airlines will handover the respective fee to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), based on a mechanism, to be determined later.

Sources said that additional fee would be in the range of $3.5 to $4. This indicates the DGCA is waiting for approval of regulatory authorities to sign a contract for implementation of the system through which travellers can register with an airline company for a seven-year period.

The breakdown of the fees are as follows:

Airport services fee of $0.80 for each passenger departing from Kuwait International Airport. Out of this, $0.48 is for the company, $0.32 is for Directorate, apart from border services fee of KD1 or its equivalent in USD. Out of this, 550 fils is for the company, and 450 fils for DGCA.
