Kuwait stops issuing driving licenses to foreign students, nurses

Kuwait Ministry has activated the Ministerial Resolution 270 of 2020, regarding non-issuance of driving licenses for foreign nurses and students.

The Assistant Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry for Traffic and Operations, Maj. Gen. Jamal Al-Sayegh said, the decision was issued on 18th March and it was not activated eversince due to the pandemic.

The Ministerial Resolution 270 of 2020 amends the provisions of Ministerial Resolution 81 of 1976 regarding executive regulations of the Traffic Law pertaining to non-issuance of driving licenses for foreign students in private universities and government institutions, apart from Nurses working in Health Ministry and private hospitals.

The decision will be applicable to fresh applications too, once the law comes into effect.
