The United Tower latest landmark in Kuwait
The 60 storey residential and commercial building in Kuwait City, the United Tower, which is currently under construction, will soon be recognized as one of the latest landmarks in Kuwait, apart from being the second tallest building in the country.
The United Towers construction was revealed yesterday by the United Towers Holding Company's (UTHC) Chairman and Managing Director, Ahmad Saud Al-Sumait, during a press conference. He commented that UTHC has already laid the foundation of the building, which is due for completion in 2010. The state-of-the-art project, worth KD 70 million, is being built at an area of 98,000 sq. mts., next to Al-Shaheed Towers and Al-Madinah towers, along the Khalid Bin Al-Waleed Street in Sharq.
Describing the building, as the first of its kind, designed to sustain the county's economic progress, Al-Sumait, noted that the building will add a specific aesthetic and architectural element to the Kuwaiti Capital. This will mark the beginning of several major projects for UTHC.
The unique building will be equipped with modern, hi-tech facilities, and is designed to accommodate commercial offices on its higher storeys, luxury and residential apartments on the middle storeys, apart from housing a commercial high-end mall with luxury retail stores, and car parks to cater to the tower's residents and visitors.
The United Tower will feature a business center, a health club, a luxurious spa with hi-tech amenities, latest security system, internet connections, and Satellite TV station reception facilities.
United Tower will, no doubt, be one among Kuwaits landmark projects, considering the unique architectural design. As said by Al-Sumait, the property boom in the country is likely to continue in the coming years, which has already brought about a lot of changes in building systems, introducing advanced technologies that are readily absorbed by the sector.
"Now with the inclusion of the United Tower skyscraper, Kuwait City has indeed become home to numerous commercial and residential towers," commented Al-Sumait.
The United Towers has already contracted Al-Ahmadiah Company to implement the project. The Senior Project Director of the United Real Estate Company, Ali Al-Saleh, states that the tower will be built based on modern specifications, and world-class smart technologies.
The ownership of this project, however, lies with UTHC and United Real Estate Company, the property arm of KIPCO (Kuwait Investment Projects Holding Company).
