Ministry plans new building in the Sabhan area
Officials at the Ministry of Public Works have announced that the ministry intends to construct a main office building in the Sabhan area, just like the one in the South Surrah area.
The project will be built on an area measuring 50,000 square meters, and would occupy 45,000 square meters while the car park would cover 6500 square meters.
The building will comprise a basement including offices, car parks, service counters with three upper floors, at an estimated cost of KD 18 million. The departments would relocate to the new building and will form the Expressway and Roads Department at the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate's Buildings Maintenance Department.
The Ministry said that such a decision from the Municipal Council was awaited and the feasibility study for this purpose has already been carried out. The design of two buildings, one for the Ministry of Electricity and Water, and another for Ministry of Public Works measuring 7000 square meters for each building has been done, at an estimated cost of KD 16 million.
