Government plans possibility of granting expats right to own properties
The government plans to study the possibility of granting expatriates the right to own properties, a new report said.
According to Naji Al-Abdulhadi, the government should carefully study the proposal, as the country is facing problems in granting residential land areas, and this might lead to further price increase of these properties.
He pointed out that the decision is better left for property market to regulate the prices and organize ownership procedures for non-Kuwaitis.
He also said that the government housing projects will also lead to development and creation of additional job opportunities, thereby addressing the current unemployment problem in Kuwait.
