Six land plots available for distribution to private school owners
The six land plots that were allocated to the Ministry of Education about 30 years ago are now ready to be distributed to owners of private schools, as the Education Ministry no longer requires these plots.
According to sources, two of these plots are located at Hawalli, and four in Salmiya. About twelve private schools could be built on these plots. At present it has been planned to build nine schools for general education, and three for children with special needs. Among these two will be built in Salmiya and one in Hawalli.
Speaking to the media, the Undersecretary for General Education, Mohammed Al-Kandari, said that the Ministry has promised to pass a regulatory decision to integrate the secondary system. The Minister of Education and Higher Education, Al-Subaih has also submitted a request to rename one of the government schools in honour of Dr. Ahmed Al-Rubei, who is a educator, politician, mentor and writer.
