Kuwaiti Cabinet discusses the housing issue
The weekly session of the Kuwait Cabinet discussed recent legislative amendments required for the Housing Law, in an effort to counter money laundering, said the Prime Minister, who was on an Arab tour.
The meeting, presided by HH Prime Minister, Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, also included the State Minister for Housing Affairs, Abdul Wahed Al-Awadhi. The Minister briefed on the housing issue, and spoke about the measures taken by the Public Authority for Housing Care to resolve the challenges it faced, despite recent amendments made to the housing law. He explained the main obstacles faced in finding a suitable solution to the housing issue, which is much in the interest of people, and in accordance to the directive of the Amir.
The Commerce and Industry Minister presented before the Cabinet, the Bureau report for countering Money Laundering, during the fourth quarter of 2007. He explained about the administrative and technical activities of the bureau, and the supervision of commercial activities of all institutions and companies, as per law.
The Public Works Minister explained the measures taken to ensure smooth flow of rain water during the season. All Ministers expressed appreciation for the efforts by Public Works Ministry, and related bodies.
The Ministers further discussed parliamentary affairs, political affairs and the recent developments on the Arab and international areas.
