Salary rise of KD100 for Kuwaiti citizens still awaiting response
According to Governmental sources, the demands of MPs to increase salaries of Kuwaiti employees upto KD100, is still under study. The sources pointed out that the government is planning to adopt a fund, which will not affect the state budget. Sources also indicated that a clear stand in the matter is yet to be arrived at by the government.
Ministers are at the moment, awaiting the response of Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, who is on vacation abroad.
In the Meantime, it has been revealed by parliamentary sources that the hesitation on the part of the government to agree to a salary rise could be to gain sufficient time to bargain with certain parliamentary blocs, in case any conflicts take place between a few MPs and the government.
