One-fifth of Kuwaiti employers likely to hire in next quarter
About more than half of regions employers (56 percent) plan to recruit during the next couple of months, reveals a new Jobs Index Study by Bayt.com, the region’s number one job site, together with YouGov Siraj, the research specialists.
In Kuwait, more than a fifth of the respondents (21 percent) said that their organizations will hire during the last quarter, while 26 percent said that they will probably be hiring. About 18percent of respondents in Kuwait say that their organizations may probably, or definitely, will not be hiring in the next quarter.
Meanwhile, the propensity of organizations to hire varied from one country to another in the MENA region. While Organizations in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Oman, all expressed their propensity to hire with 36percent, 35 percent and 32 percent respectively, only 19 percent of organizations in Qatar said they will be hiring during the coming quarter.
However, just as in the previous wave, the figures indicate that the Gulf region is still doing best in terms of ability of organizations to recruit.
The Jobs Index (JI) is conducted to gauge perceptions of job availability and hiring, to identify job trends and to provide an understanding of key skill sets and qualifications required in MENA job market.
While the prospects for job seekers vary from country to country in a year’s time, 26percent in Kuwait, 25 percent in Qatar, said that they will definitely be hiring in a year’s time.
When enquired about how they rate their country of residence as a job market in comparison to rest of the region, respondents in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar seemed more positive about their country with 47percent, 46percent and 38 percent respectively responding positively. In Kuwait 22 percent seemed positive about their country’s job market.
