Kuwait executes payment of allowances to laid-off citizens
The Finance Minister, Mustafa Al-Shamali, has announced that 80 citizens, who were released from private companies, will be receiving their allowances from the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP), after successfully verifying the information provided.
The Minister also said that all similar cases will offer their documents to the MGRP, so that they can be paid their allowances.
Al-Shamali revealed that the Ministry has finalized the draft law of insurance against unemployment, which has been studied at the Public Authority for Social Insurances, and added that it will be ready to be presented to the parliament in a month’s time.
Al-Shamali also said that the delay in paying the allowances to few applicants was mainly due to the fact that these applicants are yet to complete the required procedures for payment of their allowances. In such cases, the insolvents funds will be re-opened for receiving applications and the new mechanism of the fund will be discussed by the Cabinet soon.
