Electronic finger-print system to link salaries of personnel
Dr Fadhel Safar Ali Safat, the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs announced that the newly-introduced electronic fingerprint system will be linked to salaries of its personnel.
Talking to the reporters during the inaugural ceremony of the fingerprint system, he said that the system aims to verify the attendance of the personnel and link it to their pay.
To begin with, the system will be introduced in Jahra Governorate, and will be soon adopted by other governorates successively based on a specific time schedule, the Minister noted.
Kuwait Municipality is developing contracts for introducing a personal information digest system to all its branches in the near future. Efforts are on to assess the performance of municipal departments of all governorates in the form of contest, and the results will be announced during the Holy month of Ramadan.
According to an order by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), the Kuwait Municipality began to introduce the electronic fingerprint system, hoping that the system would cut short its daily routine and improve performance of municipal personnel.
The decision to link the attendance system with the salaries is to do justice to hard-working employees, encouraging them to realize the future targets of their departments, Safar explained.
The project will be implemented in three stages. The first includes introduction of the system in Al-Jahra and Al-Ahmadi governorates and the imported foodstuff department. The second stage includes installation of 37 scanners at the municipal divisions of Al-Farwaniya and Mubarak Al-Kabir governorates, and in the third stage, 58 scanners will be installed at the Capital and Hawally governorates.
