200 Citizens, 40 companies in Kuwait blacklisted
About 200 Kuwaiti citizens and 40 companies have been blacklisted and prevented from bringing in foreign workers into the country, following evidence which suggests their involvement in human trafficking.
The move forms a part of security campaign to arrest Iqama violators. About 5000 illegal residents have been arrested during the campaign and their finger prints were collected, in a bid, to prevent them from returning under another identity.
A government official in Kuwait said that those deported will be permanently banned from the country. However, those who leave Kuwait voluntarily during the amnesty period will be permitted to return, provided, they meet the stipulated conditions.
