Disability recruitment essential in Kuwait
Al-Hasban strongly advocated the establishment of government programs to train and equip people with special needs to qualify them to enter the job market confidently, bemoaning the fact that businesses are not currently doing anything in this regard beyond paying lip service to the idea.
The activist applauded the Saudi approach to training the disabled, saying that in Saudi Arabia the disabled are entrusted with the sensitive task of preparing the cover that drapes the holy Kaaba. In contrast, here in Kuwait, he said, individuals with special needs are not even entrusted to work in relatively unskilled positions such as jobs in paper and plastic factories. Al-Hasban appealed to all businesses, factories, and companies to encourage the employment of the disabled by making them feel welcome and useful.
