Proposal submitted for granting advance salaries to high-rank retiring government officials
The MPs from various parliamentary blocs have begun drafting a bill regarding granting advance salaries upon retirement to the high-ranking officials with more than 25 years of service. Two years advance salaries have been granted upon retirement after the government issued a decision in this regard.
MP Jaber Al-Azmi has disclosed that legislators have agreed to submit a draft bill to permit payment of two years salaries in advance to those who served for more than 25 years on retirement.
This will offer a chance to the youth to prove their abilities in handling leadership posts in the public sector. Such a decision, if implemented, will give graduates an opportunity to occupy high ranking government posts. Approval of the proposed bill is expected prior to beginning of next legislative round, he said.
Al-Azmi also pointed out that this decision had been already implemented earlier in the ministries of Interior and Defense, which had received good support from officials of both ministries, as well as the public.
