Unemployed citizens urged to seek employment in private sectors
According to Dr Abdullah Fahad Al-Abduljader, the situation of unemployment in Kuwait is a ghost-like phenomenon. As per international criteria for unemployment, there is no real unemployment in Kuwait, he said.
The unemployed citizens, who are on the look-out for jobs cannot be categorized as unemployed, as they are not particularly serious about landing a job. They rather prefer to remain unemployed and avail the unemployment allowances from the government, instead, Dr. Abdullah commented.
Such citizens should be prompted to find employment in the private sector, for which, the government needs to streamline procedures. Dr. Abdullah urged the Government to make efforts in easing private sector regulations and encourage national employment.
He also requested the government to update the educational curriculum so as to generate a qualified national workforce. High School and college graduates should be encouraged to work in private sector, in a bid to avert any possible employment crisis in future, he added.
