Deadline extended for legalizing work permit

The Labor Ministry has announced that the deadline for legalizing work permit status has been extended till 15th May.

The Assistant Undersecretary for labor department of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr Saleh Al-Sheikh revealed that the amnesty scheme has greatly helped in reducing the entry of illegal workers into the state. Hence, granting an extension to legally transfer work permits of expatriate workers, will help in legalizing their residence status.

He added that, he intends to send a memorandum to the Labor Ministry to compile a statistical report of all those who benefitted from the amnesty, to enable him to officially extend the period.
