Kuwaiti government employment waiting list crosses 20,000 in number
Abdul Aziz Al-Zaben, the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), has announced that Kuwaiti citizens who are registered on the waiting list for government employment, totaled to 20,225 in number. He agreed that more effort is being made to reduce the waiting time and expedite formalities.
He said that the main task of CSC is to provide job opportunities for Kuwaitis in both private and government sectors, in co-ordination with the available manpower and government restructuring program. He revealed that CSC has put in maximum efforts to restructure manpower so as to combat unemployment among citizens and decrease demand on government jobs.
“We have done our best to encourage national labour in working for the private sector. However, this could be achieved only if specific training programs are being held to qualify citizens to work in certain professions,” he said, adding that, surveying the labour market by co-ordinating manpower with government restructuring program is also necessary.
CSC also co-ordinates with various government establishments, and every six months, it sends reports directly the Cabinet, in case of any violations. At present, the Ministry of Education, is the government sector employing largest numbers of Kuwaiti citizens.
