Kuwait and India sign fresh domestic labour and visa waiver deal

The Kuwait Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, together with Indian External Affairs Minister Smt. Sushma Swaraj signed two new deals on domestic labour recruitment and Visa Waiver for diplomatic passport holders.

The deal was signed during a meeting between the two ministers.  The recruitment for domestic workers would be done only through government-approved agencies henceforth, and the deal ensures that the welfare and rights of domestic workers are protected as per laws.

As per the Visa Waiver agreement signed between the two countries, the citizen holding diplomatic or special passports would be exempted from need for pre-entry visa for both countries.

The meeting also involved the presence of Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia Affairs, Ali Al Saeed, and several other important ministers.
