Employment outside sponsorship to attract heavy fine

A draft bill on amending Article 183 of Private Sector Labour Law No 6/2010 has been issued, wherein anyone caught employing a person, who is not sponsored under his sponsorship, will have to shell out a fine amount of KD5000 henceforth.

The bill has been approved by the Parliamentary Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee on Sunday. The committee also approved two new articles for Kuwait Municipality Law No.5/2005, which stipulates that the Municipality should not issue a license for an investment or commercial building, if it does not include a basement and parking lot.

According to latest news, the committee is said to have approved eight such draft bills, and has rejected three of them.
