Health Ministry seeks increase in salaries for Kuwaiti Doctors
Ministry of Health has demanded an increase in salaries for Kuwaiti Doctors, so as to put an end to increasing resignations by several doctors who intend to work in neighbouring states.
The Ministry forwarded a report to the Cabinet in this regard, which compared the salaries of a Kuwaiti doctor to those who working in other GCC states, reflecting the later to be six times higher than the former.
The basic salary of a Kuwait Doctor is KD1,150 apart from accommodation allowance and training allowance worth KD270. In the UAE, however, the basic salary is KD6,080, apart from, apart from accommodation allowance of KD3,640.
The report revealed that, in Qatar alone, a basic salary of KD4,620 apart from accommodation allowance of KD3,465 and clinic allowance of KD1540. Even in Saudi, the basic salary of doctors is KD4,950 with allowances of about KD75, in addition to paying fifty percent of their child’s educational expenses.
