Expat teachers employed in Kuwait and stranded abroad due to covid-related travel restrictions will not be paid retroactively, Al Anba newspaper reported Thursday.
“The ministry will begin paying salaries to those teachers starting from the dates of doing the job,” the sources said.
“When those teachers return to the country and resume their job, their salaries will not be reimbursed retroactively,” the newspaper quoted well-informed sources at the Kuwaiti Education Ministry as saying.
Though, the absence period, during which those teachers were stranded abroad, will not negatively affect their annual evaluation because the absence was compulsory.
