Kuwait Zoological Garden
Located on the lush setting of Omariya, on the airport route in the city, is one of the most methodically and diligently planned park lands in the region, also known as Kuwait Zoological Gardens.
It houses more than 65 animal species, including majestic lions, regal elephants, and illusive tigers, apart from Zebras, and giraffes. The sanctuary is also home to more than 128 bird species and five reptile varieties.
Following two years of renovations, the Zoological Gardens re-opened in 1993, and this sprawling parkland is a favorite among seasoned travelers. It offers a range of activities for young visitors to enjoy, including horse rides, camel rides, and donkey rides, apart from electronic games and magic shows that form part of the itinerary.
Guests have the opportunity for capturing photos of their favorite creepy crawlies, to immortalize their trip. There is also a scenic train tour along the shady paths, crisscrossing the gardens.
Apart from its renowned collection of endangered and rare animals, the zoological garden engages in educating and preserving wildlife, and serves as a research institute. The education center of the venue is also worth a visit, as it offers an interactive study experience, involving native species of Kuwait which lived in Kuwait nearly half-a-century ago.
