New infrastructure, construction projects launched

The projects market in Kuwait has witnessed a new dawn with launch of several infrastructure and construction projects, including environmental fuel projects worth USD12bn, apart from other mega projects in the field of roads and bridges, including Al-Sabbiya Bridge and Kuwait Metro projects.

For most of the past decade, the international companies operating in major projects sector have considered Kuwait to be a challenging market to do business, the report said.

This year will be different with new Parliament. This considerable change in Kuwait’s political landscape for projects market was confirmed in the month of February, when the Central Tender Committee confirmed the award as one of the three engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) deals worth USD12bn for delayed Clean Fuel Projects (CFP).

The CFP awards, including the single biggest oil and gas EPC contract awarded in the GCC is an indication that Kuwait is back in business, the report concluded.
