Avenues Mall bags Best Shopping Centre 2013 award

The Avenues Mall has been granted the Gold Award for Best Shopping Centre 2013 under the expansion and design category for the MENA region. The Avenues was awarded this prize by the Middle East and International Shopping Centre Councils, after the mall excelled over the other shopping malls.


The Avenues is among the world’s largest shopping centres, attracting plenty of shoppers in Kuwait. It boasts of unique architectural designs, with several architectural schools having given a distinct identity to each district, inspired by some of the world’s oldest cities and offering visitors a unique shopping experience.


The Avenues offer a range of renowned brands, restaurants and entertainment centres all spread across a leasable area of 270,000 sqm. It houses 800 retail units and a multi-level parking lot with capacity to accommodate 10,000 vehicles.


The Avenues is also home to several international and local brands in its seven districts, namely “1st Avenue”, “2nd Avenue”, “Grand Avenue”, “Prestige”, “Soku”, “The Mall” and “The restaurants and cafes”.


All these districts have several high, middle range and luxury and elite brands, some of the brands being introduced in Middle East for the first time, apart from several international restaurants and cafes, entertainment centres, jewellery zone, kids edutainment centre, and “The Souk”.


Meanwhile “SoKu” (South Kuwait in short), located on two streets and two floors, embodies the modern shopping and includes leading youth brands, bringing together modern fashion, electronics, sportswear, and art exhibition, apart from famous international and local restaurants and cafes.


The Chairman and Managing Director of Mabanee Co Mohammed Abdulaziz Alshaya, lauding ‘The Avenues’ for its Gold Award for Best Shopping Centre 2013, said that work is also underway to further develop the shopping experience at The Avenues through design and construction of new phases of the project, which will further add value to the project, making it another leading iconic structure worldwide.


The Avenues has already won several prestigious awards at the international level for its building and construction, and architectural finesse and detailed designing.
