Flydubai shifts main terminal operations from Kuwait International Airport

Flydubai has shifted its eight daily flight operations from the main terminal at Kuwait International Airport to Sheikh Saad al Abdallah General Aviation Terminal. This move to the terminal offers better customer experience for flydubai passengers flying in and out of Kuwait.

The inaugural flight of Flydubai, FZ057, touched down at the terminal at 1330 hrs local time and was welcomed with a water cannon salute. The aircraft was received by Fawaz Abdulaziz Al Farah, President of Kuwait Civil Aviation and a delegation of Kuwaiti officials on the tarmac.

The President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Flydubai, Sheikh Ahmed, expressed his gratefulness to the Kuwaiti authorities for their support of the move to Sheikh Saad Al Abdallah General Aviation Terminal.

The avialtion links Kuwait with UAE, and has played major role in strengthening ties between the two nations, while Flydubai will continue to create free flows of trade and tourism between the two nations, Sheikh Ahmed said.

Flydubai recently introduced Business Class Premium offering on chosen flights along the Kuwait route beginning October.

Together with the move to the terminal, this will offer better choice to passengers, who can access faster check-in-services, shortened queuing time at immigration desks, and more personalized flying experience.

Flydubai launched its operations to Kuwait in March 2010 with double daily service. Three years later, the carrier transported more than a million passengers between Dubai and Kuwait, while increasing frequency to eight a day. The total number of flights to Kuwait grew by 62 percent, following one year of operations, coupled with strong demand in the Kuwait-UAE sector.
