Mubaraiya Souk now open to receive visitors

Named after the late Amir Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, the Mubarakiya Souk is now ready to receive visitors. It is all set for Eid Al Fitr holiday, given, the excellent efforts of President of Voluntary Work Centre, Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah who actually renovated the souk area. The activists now hope to draw in not only nationals and expatriates, but also foreign visitors and tourists.

Here, the visitors can get a taste of Kuwaiti market. The Souk includes several shops with all kinds of merchandise. There are several Arab, Indian and Persian restaurants, old type cafes and children playground. The shops sell national costumes, spices, sweets, dates and natural and alcohol perfumes that are widely used in Arabian Gulf nations.

Further, there is the gold market positioned at the heart of the Souq, where shops are lined adjacent to each other displaying their unique Arabic style. One can also get to see the authentic kitchenware, tea cups and tea pots, baskets and mats weaved out of date palm food, another Arab Gulf Specialty, meat and fish.
